Welfare of Animals as part of NRM

At Planet Nurture Foundation, we believe that animal welfare is an integral part of Natural Resource Management (NRM). Healthy, well-treated animals are essential to sustainable rural livelihoods, especially in communities that rely on livestock for income, agriculture, and transportation. Our initiatives focus on improving the living conditions, nutrition, and healthcare of working and domestic animals.

  • Welfare of Equines at Brick Kilns: Thousands of equines—donkeys, mules, and horses—work under harsh conditions at brick kilns. We conduct regular health check-ups, provide treatment for injuries, and educate owners on proper care, nutrition, and humane handling. Awareness drives help workers understand the importance of rest, clean shelter, and regular veterinary support.

  • Welfare of Milch Animals: Milch animals such as cows and buffaloes are vital for both food security and income in rural areas. We organize deworming, vaccination, and nutritional support camps to ensure their health and productivity. Farmers are trained in hygienic milking practices, proper feeding, and disease prevention—improving both animal welfare and dairy output.

By promoting compassionate care, Planet Nurture Foundation enhances animal well-being while strengthening the livelihoods that depend on them.
