Ensuring availability of Safe Drinking Water
Access to clean and safe drinking water is a fundamental right and a key driver of health, dignity, and development. At Planet Nurture Foundation, we are committed to ensuring water security in rural and underserved communities through community participation, infrastructure development, and awareness-building initiatives.
- Jal Minar and Jal Minar Samities: We support the installation and maintenance of Jal Minars (community water towers) and form local Jal Minar Samities to manage them. These community-led groups ensure water distribution is equitable, well-maintained, and sustainable.
- Addressing Water-Related Issues Through Village Development Planning: We actively engage villages in identifying and resolving water scarcity issues through participatory planning. Solutions are designed to suit local needs—whether it's restoring old wells, managing water usage, or constructing drainage systems.
- Development of Water Harvesting Structures: We build check dams, farm ponds, and rooftop rainwater harvesting systems to capture rainwater and recharge groundwater levels. These structures help reduce dependency on depleting borewells.
- Installation of Water Filtration Facilities: To ensure water quality, we install filtration units in schools and public areas. These systems eliminate harmful contaminants and provide access to safe drinking water for all.
